Ashtanga Yoga was the first Vinyasa or ‘flow’ based yoga practice. It is a set sequence of poses linked with breath that encourages practitioners to establish fluidity and consistency in their practice. Ashtanga is great for those looking to make their movement practice more meditative or want to see concrete physical progress and transformations. This workshop will introduce you to the core tenants of the Ashtanga Yoga practice (breath, bandhas, dristhi), and breakdown foundational postures into detail. This workshop may also be appropriate for yoga teachers who would like to practice hands on assisting (6 CEs with instructor's permission). Taught by Kristin McCoy and Kristina Reese.
